You realise that two paths cannot be travelled at once so you really need to look at the fact that you need to wear many different hats and play many different parts. Your partner needs to be aware of this and to be pulling in the same direction as you otherwise you will both remain unfulfilled by the relationship and find it restricting rather than rewarding.
