Dealing With Loss

Written by  | 16th April 2026

Back in early 2025 march 5 only a few weeks before my birthday, my brother informed me that my mother of 92 years passed. I was both stunned and heartbroken. After attending the service I was able to bring her ashes home with me. Then on her birthday, Nov 21 tragedy struck once more and this time I was completely shattered! My beautiful maltese of only six years died of heart failure.

What people do not understand is when we experience this kind of devistating loss and we experience it so close together it causes severe trauma! You cannot expect a person who went through ht kind of ordeal to simply return to how things used to be. Its not possible! Because not only have they lost somone whom meant te world to tem but a part of them also died and they can never get that part of themselves back! After the death o my maltese I was a mess! I was angry tht she was taken fromm I was crying and screaming every day and I too wanted to die! Because she was my light! I wish to God! That people could feel the hurt and understan the monumental pain that this causes and then maybe they will treat others who haven't even ad the time to grieve one loss before experiencing anoter.

If you are a supervisor, or own a business and you want your workers to snap back to the way before they exxperienced this loss, I have really bad news for you, that won't happen! The reason is loss changed one forever, and its bad enough to lose someone but to have to go through hat in the same year that much pain is unbearable! Compassion is essential here, understanding that we cannot simply transport ourselves back to a time of joy fter experiencing this grave loss. Patience is essential. Just being there and letting them scream and shout and cry! We don't want to be told its going to be ok or get over it we want someone to hold us and just let us explode!!

Everyone deals with loss in his or her's own way. After I lost my Zoe, who was my ligh my reason for getting up every morning I was MAD!! Oh Was I mad I was mad at everyone! I was angry at the woman who sold me the dog and swore never to buy from her again! I was mad at the GODS for taking my angel from me I was outraged! To the point I didn't want to continue without her. I even stopped eating for two days all I could do was cry! Then on Christmas day, I called a breeder and asked for a video on a female maltese. She showed me the most beautiful baby I had ever seen and that little angel is now four monhs and is named Tara. We all heal differently I needed another little maltese to consume me so that Idin' feel so much pain. I remember I heard Zeus say to me, 'by January you will have yor puppy.' He was right she was delivered by the breeder on Jan 2026 and she is my world! Loss hurts, its absolutely horrible, but healing is possible it just takes time and patience.

If you have experienced loss, allow yourself to feel all those emotions because it may not feel like it t the time it may feel so painful that you too want to die! But believe me it does help to let it all out because once we do that's when clarity enters our hearts and our minds. I'm always here if you need someone to just listen abut loss or need guidance thanks for reading this.
