Imbolc and the Full Moon

Imbolc and the Full Moon

The Fire Festival of Brigid at Imbolc falls usually on the 2nd of February. The goddess Brigid was absorbed as St Bridget into the Christian church. She is triple goddess: maiden, mother and crone but Imbolc at the beginning of the year is about beginnings and so here she is seen as the maiden. She is goddess of fire, fertility, healing, poetry and metal working.

It is a good time to let go of the past, or elements of the past that no longer serve you, and look to the future.
With a Full Moon on 3rd of February this is a particularly good time for bringing a conclusion to anything, to learn from your experience and look to the future. This full moon in Leo looks likely to bring a lot of drama into what you may have hoped would be a peaceful and lovely situation. Issues of freedom may come up around home and work/career but try to stay on the playful side of things, or stand back a bit, because behaviour could become a bit immature! You may usually just make a compromise, and fairness is important but try to make it fairer for you. Maybe look at doing something differently which could be considered to be fair and reasonable given the circumstances.

It may be time to start or continue on a journey of self-discovery, a search for some inner peace and understanding. Please do try to avoid the tendency to be a martyr. Look for a different solution, one that puts a repeating problem behind you. Nurture yourself.

Blessings
