The Death Card - Not Scary At All!

Written by  | 8th May 2017

Tarot cards tell a story and the 78 cards can have a multitude of meanings that can be interpreted in so many ways depending on the combination and what one psychically picks up from the Tarot cards. I use tarot cards when I read clients and I have collected a variety of interesting decks. Even though they all have the same cards, it is very eye opening to look at the illustrations when reading the cards and to see how they speak to you. Right now I want to go into more detail regarding the Death card which seems to scare a lot of people when it shows up in a reading.

The Death card is number 13 of the Major Arcana cards in the Tarot deck. The Death card can represent many good things in a reading. First of all, astrologically speaking the Sun sign Scorpio is represented by the Death card. So, often in a reading the card may show up referring to a Scorpio in the situation. The Death card also represents endings and rebirth. This can be an ending to a way of life or situation, not necessarily a bad thing. Rebirth would be good as well as you are being offered new beginnings and a new or renewal in a situation in your life.

When the Death card shows up, it is letting you know that things are changing and may not be what they used to be. In some instances, this can be sad or melancholy, but in others this can be a welcome change. Either way, change is inevitable when it comes up in specific readings.
Most of all, it is important to remember that a reading that is made up of a combination of Tarot cards and each card read in combination of the others. So, unless you are pulling a one card which can tell you an overall understanding of a situation, the cards in a reading can mean different things depending on the neighbouring cards.

Finally, every reading and Tarot spread is different because a psychic will interpret the cards differently depending on the combination of the cards and person being read. I read clients through the cards. So, I psychically determine how the Death card is being interpreted in each reading independent of how a definition might show up in a book. So, the Death card is not scary at all, it is just necessary to look at the whole picture and use your intuition to determine its meaning when in shows up in your spread.
