Many of us spend years trying to avoid difficult emotions. We distract ourselves, stay busy, or convince ourselves that we should simply “move on.”
Yet, from a spiritual perspective, our emotions are not our enemies. They are gentle messengers, guiding us towards the parts of ourselves that need understanding, compassion, and healing.
Every emotion carries wisdom. Sadness reminds us of love that mattered. Anger highlights where our boundaries have been crossed. Fear asks us to slow down and reconnect with our inner strength. Even guilt can encourage reflection and growth when approached with kindness rather than judgement.
When we stop resisting our feelings, we begin to understand the lessons hidden within them. Healing does not happen by pretending everything is fine. It begins the moment we allow ourselves to acknowledge what we truly feel.
Tears are not signs of weakness; they are signs that energy is moving. The heart has its own language, and emotions are one of its most powerful ways of communicating with us.
Spirit often works through our emotional awareness. As a psychic medium, I have seen countless reminders from loved ones in spirit encouraging people to stop suppressing their emotions.
Those in spirit frequently show that love never judges our feelings. Instead, they encourage us to embrace them, knowing that every emotional experience shapes our soul’s journey and helps us grow into a wiser, more compassionate version of ourselves.
Think of your emotions like waves upon the ocean. Some are calm, while others feel overwhelming. Yet every wave eventually reaches the shore and settles.
When we resist the waves, we become exhausted. When we allow them to flow naturally, they eventually pass, leaving behind greater clarity and peace.
The universe never asks us to be perfect. It simply asks us to be present. Every feeling deserves acknowledgement without criticism.
By sitting with our emotions instead of running from them, we create space for healing, forgiveness, and transformation. This is where true spiritual growth begins.
Remember that healing is not a race. Some wounds require patience, while others soften surprisingly quickly. Trust your own timing. Your soul understands the path far better than your mind ever could.
A Simple Breathing Exercise
Find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably. Close your eyes and gently place one hand over your heart.
Breathe in slowly through your nose for four seconds.
Hold your breath gently for four seconds.
Exhale slowly through your mouth for six seconds.
As you breathe out, quietly say to yourself:
“I allow myself to feel. I allow myself to heal.”
Repeat this gentle breathing exercise five times.
Notice any emotions without trying to change them. Simply observe them with kindness, knowing that they are moving through you rather than defining you.
The more lovingly you welcome your emotions, the lighter your spirit becomes and the closer you move towards lasting inner peace, balance, hope, self-acceptance, and unconditional love each day.
Love always,
Marcus
