It's been estimated that, since the dawn of humankind, 117 billion have come into the World; and with the appriximately 8 billion alive, today making roughly 6.8% of the total number of those who've ever lived.
Consider this: so we have to thank the estimated 109 billion who've been (and gone) for the Civilisation we inhabit right now. Those who brought something good, those who did the opposite; and those who just accepted whatever it was, without an aknowledgement, or any appreciation. I think about this Quite a Lot, when I'm dwelling on what Human Beings are all about: and the countless Situations we get ourselves into, that seem to repeat themselves through so many generations.
As I write, today (August 6th) is the 80th Anniversary of sending an atomic bomb to annihilate many thousands of Japanese, and to inflict long lasting effects on the survivors.
Human Beings! Just one of the terrible retributions that we inflict upon each other. Never mind the far, far lesser ones we do in our private lives but that have a profound impact on us. And I take this on board, when I set about reading the Tarot Cards for a client for, oftentimes they're in a 'make or break' situation which will influence whatever number of years they have to be here.
There's an old Saying :" What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger;' but, even though it carries a modicum of Truth, it's going to have to take a deal of Soul Searching to get to the Nub.
I'm guessing this is one of the reasons why Divination came so early on the scene, in attempts to analyse the Whys and Wherefores; and to own up to the Consequences of our Actions.
All of Us, right now, have a grave responsibility to protect the World, and what surrounds Us. And to REALLY think about what effect we're having on others. Which is why I have a strong leaning towards Karma; and another Saying: "What's for us, won't pass us by."
A 20 Minute Reading isn't going to give us enough time to pass on what lies behind the Questions that are being put but, if we can find the words to encourage a client to go seeking their answers from their Inner Self and to Hold Fast to their own Truth, then, hopefully, it will be just enough for them to step on a different path.
As Socrates said, so many centuries ago: "Know Thy Self: the unexamined Life is not worth living." And, maybe, this is what we're here for, in every Life we take on board, enabling Us to move to a higher level of Consciousness?
