Making the Best of Mercury Retrograde
Communication is absolutely everything. Mercury rules the communication sector of planetary energies. It also rules self expression overall. Typically, Mercury will sit in the same spot as one's Sun sign on an astrological chart.
When mercury is in retrograde, communication with one's self (introspection) is about the only option we have at successfully understanding things. The planet appears to be spinning backwards, while all of the other planets are revolving - it's a time of not feeling heard, and frustration can set in.

This helps one find inner peace, with the retro-movement of the planet. When the planet goes direct (aka forward) again, those changes to your inner perspectives will show in all your outward affairs.
When we change what we feel inside, retrospectively, we change how others see us, directly.
