Reclaiming Belief: How I Found My Own Spiritual Truth

Reclaiming Belief: How I Found My Own Spiritual Truth

Belief can be a complicated thing. For many of us, it’s shaped by our family, our culture, our earliest memories. And for some, like me, it also comes with confusion, conflict — even fear.

Growing up, I learned at a very young age that having beliefs wasn’t safe.

My mum was Christian. My dad was Muslim. And I remember moments from my childhood that left deep imprints — like the times they’d argue in the street when she tried to take us to church. There was tension, shouting, hurt. And somewhere in the middle of that, I quietly internalised a message: it’s not safe to believe in anything.

That message stayed with me for a long time. I learned to avoid strong opinions, to keep my spiritual curiosity tucked away, and to tiptoe around anything that might “cause trouble.” For years, I lived with a kind of spiritual silence — not because I didn’t feel something deeper, but because I didn’t feel safe to express it.

Fast forward to now — and I’m a psychic reader. I work with intuition, spirit, and energy every day. My whole life is built on tuning into the unseen, trusting inner wisdom, and helping others connect with their own truth.

So how did I get from there to here?

The Journey Back to Belief

It didn’t happen overnight. For a long time, I avoided anything that looked like “belief.” I was wary of dogma, of labels, of saying “I believe in this” out loud. But deep down, I was always searching. I could feel there was more — something bigger, something meaningful — and I wanted to find a way to connect with it that didn’t make me feel trapped or unsafe.

Eventually, I gave myself permission to explore — gently, in my own way. I read spiritual books that weren’t tied to any one religion. I started pulling cards, journaling, meditating. I learned to trust my intuition, and slowly, I started to realise something important:

Belief doesn’t have to come from outside of us. It can rise from within.

I didn’t have to choose sides. I didn’t have to adopt a label. I could build a belief system that felt like home — one rooted in love, in energy, in connection. One that allowed for mystery, for change, for growth. And that’s what I did.

What We Believe Shapes Everything

Our beliefs shape the way we see the world. They colour how we interpret experiences, how we relate to others, how we speak to ourselves. They either limit us or liberate us.

When I believed it wasn’t safe to express myself spiritually, I kept my light small. I doubted my voice. I struggled to trust my own intuition. But when I started to change that belief — when I began to believe that I could connect with spirit, that I was safe to be seen, that my spiritual path had value — everything began to shift.

That’s the thing about beliefs: once we start becoming conscious of them, we can rewrite the ones that no longer serve us.

You’re Allowed to Believe in What Speaks to Your Soul

Maybe you grew up in a strict religious household. Maybe you were told your beliefs were “wrong” or “weird.” Maybe, like me, you learned it was safer to stay quiet. If any of that resonates, I want you to know this:

You’re allowed to believe in something beautiful.
You’re allowed to question, to explore, to outgrow old beliefs and try new ones on.
You’re allowed to find your own path — one that supports you, nurtures you, and makes sense to you.

Whether your beliefs are rooted in traditional faith, universal energy, nature, the ancestors, your higher self — it all counts. What matters is that it feels authentic. That it gives you strength. That it connects you to something meaningful.

From Fear to Freedom

For me, reclaiming belief has been one of the most healing parts of my journey. I no longer feel afraid to say what I believe — in energy, in spirit, in love, in the unseen world that speaks to us in quiet whispers. My work as a psychic is one way I honour that belief every day. It’s not about proving anything to anyone — it’s about living in alignment with my truth.

And I share this with you not just as a story, but as a reminder:
You’re allowed to believe in something sacred.
You’re allowed to find your own version of spiritual safety.
You’re allowed to believe — and to let that belief become a foundation that supports your life in powerful, healing ways.

Always be true to you,
Sarah
