Our Eyes Are Windows To The Soul

Our Eyes Are Our Windows To The Soul

“Eyes are the windows to our soul.” Everybody knows the saying, but where did this phrase originate from? The proverb has been traced back to the Roman statesman Cicero (106-43 BC).  He is quoted as saying the face is a picture of the mind and the eyes are the interpreter. Later, William Shakespeare, amongst others, used a similar phrase.

The best way to know a person is to look deep into their eyes. Our eyes, like our body language, reveal a lot about our emotional state. Experts who have studied faces have observed that the eyes are the most sincere part of our faces. We have no control over our eyes; For example when we like something your pupils will dilate involuntarily, so look deep into the eyes of people you meet.

When someone is happy the eyes elongate, wrinkle and shine. When we are paying full attention are eyes will open wide with a penetrating gaze means you have their full attention. If someone is feeling sad the eyelids raise and so do the lower edge of the brows. When we are angry our eyebrows will arch or even frown.

So the next time you meet someone new pay great attention to their eyes. They speak volumes more than words can say. For more information call me.
