Hope and Housework
Hello everyone. With the Festive Season upon us it is very easy to slip into despondency and dirt! The former due to those disappointments or disasters that have occurred during the year, and the latter because of the lack of time to keep up with the cleaning! So with that in mind, I’ve created this little verse. It’s humorous, it’s uplifting and it’s something to read instead of getting that dustpan and brush out! I hope you like it.
I found Hope lying on the ground,It feared that it might not be found.Its tears had tarnished all its shineBut I say ‘Come on, now you’re mine!’I’ll take you home and polish you,And soon you’ll sparkle just like new.And so I did, and hope renewedWith spit ‘n polish and some glue.Like chores, Hope never goes away.So smile ‘cos Hope is here to stay!(Just like the cleaning).
