How to use crystals

Many people have crystals but I have a particular interest in them as I use them to make handmade jewellery.

Crystals have many different properties and can be used to promote positive energy and release negative energy, for you in person or around you in your home or workplace. If you are going to use crystals for this purpose they should be cleansed thoroughly first. There are many different ways of cleansing your crystals soaking them in water with sea salt is a common way but please check it is OK for your particular crystals as some can become damaged with the salt. Citrine how ever doesn't really need cleansing and can be used to absorb and cleanse energy from other crystals if placed with them.

Once you have soaked your crystal find a place outside if possible or a window sill is fine if not, to leave the crystal on to absorb the light from the moon full moons and new moons are the best time for this. Place your crystal in a spot where it will get the most light for the longest time, you can also use sunlight but morning sunlight is best before it gets to strong.

Once you have cleansed your crystal you can then begin to charge it for its purpose, the simplest way to do this is to hold it in your dominant hand and imagine you are sending your thoughts to the crystal so if you wish to attract something think of it coming to you with loving energy.

If you wish to be protected from something imagine your crystal has surrounded you with protective light as if you are in a protective bubble so any negative energy will bounce of it. You will know when your crystal is charged as you will feel it maybe with intuition or for a lot of people a tingling sensation will occur in your hand. If you are going to use crystals in this way it is a good idea to keep a diary of what crystals you have used and how they affected you.
