Honouring Our Personal Gifts

As the fourth Simple Abundance principle - Harmony - starts to stir within our souls, discerning our personal gifts is essential if we are to experience harmony in our lives. "Because our gifts carry us out into the world and make us participants in life, the uncovering of them is one of the most important tasks confronting any one of us" writes Elizabeth O'Connor in her Eighth Day of Creation: Gifts and Creativity. She goes on to say "When we talk about being true to ourselves - being the persons we are intended to be - we are talking about gifts. We cannot be ourselves unless we are true to our gifts"

It can be difficult for us to be known, let alone be, who we truly are. We are often taught by Masters, Mystics, Sages, Philosophers and even Poets, that the authentic path exists and is passed down through the ages. So why have many of us tuned out from this? Perhaps it's partly due to our belief that any such mysterious uncovering may be down to the will of God, rather than relying on ourselves and our own unconscious to guide us along our path of destiny to help us realise and achieve all that we are and are meant to be.

The Tarot Cards are an invaluable tool in uncovering our own unconscious and gently guiding us not only along the path that we are currently on, and the one of the future that awaits us, but also in understanding what each path and connection with another is trying to show us or teach us. By uncovering these mysteries, we learn not only to accept and understand what is currently going on around us and why, but how best to move forward from it and learn from it, with the hopes that we need not repeat it again in the future, but instead move on to something more harmonious and peaceful within our lives.

It's interesting though, as often, even in our own darkest hours of doubt, insecurity and temporary losses of faith, we still want to believe that a Force greater than us really does exist, and is guiding us and working with our own power or understanding. And it is. The Force is with your authentic self. As Obi Wan Kenobi tells Luke Skywalker in Star Wars "The Force is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, it penetrates us, it binds galaxies together" It is this Force that binds our dreams and desires with our personal gifts so that they can find a natural outward expression, and we can slowly become who we truly are, and have what we truly want, as well as what we need. "Follow your feelings, trust your feelings" the Jedi Knight urges us all, because it is within the Force that we can live and move and then truly know our being.
