Eye of the Tiger

Eye of the Tiger

I am sure we have all sang our heart out to the classic Rocky anthem that is Eye of The Tiger, but what is it really like to glimpse in to a tigers? As a shamanic practitioner, one of my first inner journeys was to find my spirit animal. As a UK based nature lover, I expected a deer maybe, or a hare, but as I travelled down the long winding path to the lower world I was shocked to find myself in a hot sandy environment with only a few trees for shade. I heard movement and felt the brush of a tail as something moved around me. As I turned I stopped in awe as I stared in to the face of the magnificent tiger spirit. I felt her breath meet my breath; I saw her fur stand on end and even peaked at her impressive fangs. I knew right then and there that my spirit animal had shown herself to me and I realised we were going to be connected from that day forward.

My tiger spirit has taught me strength, willpower and courage. She has gotten me through so much healing of past trauma and she continues to keep me safe on all my journeys. If you would like to connect with tiger spirit but have no experience of shamanic work then you can start by trying to connect with tiger eye crystal. It is a beautiful burnt orange colour crystal and just like the tiger spirit it brings you courage, willpower and protection. If you prefer tarot as a way to connect to spirit then try you can also connect with the powerful Strength card from the Major Arcana. We all need a little strength some time and boy did I find mine when I stared down the eye of the tiger.
