It's to do with our material work but also the Hierophant is asking you to blend your spiritual attitude with your material gain. You are simply going for something where you feel more enlightened and going with a gut feeling. This is because the past has been unsatisfactory and you've always worked towards a material gain. This time your going for something more spiritual and you're following your own gut feeling, which does mean you had to take a u turn. Instead of sticking to the tried and tested way, you're branching out into something different based on your traditional morals and realizing there is more to life than material gain.
