Willow tree is ruled by the moon and deeply associated with the cycles of life, a feminine tree who is known as "The Queen of the Waters" as she is so often found next to the riverbank with her deep, grounding roots sunk into the dark, damp earth below. Her branches "weep" and dip into the waters around her to monitor the depth and flow of the life giving waters. Willow tree is a deeply intuitive and emotionally energetic tree and just like the moon, she guides us to connect with and to trust our own intuition to find the answers within. Her energy also serves as a reminder that life moves much more easily when we are flexible and go with the flow rather than standing rigid and trying to control the outcome. Willow is also synonymous with Easter and she reminds us of the endless cycle of life, death and rebirth. If willow is chopped down she is quick to regrow, she doesn't just die back and allow herself to be consumed by Mother Earth, she chooses time and time again to be reborn and grow back stronger. She demonstrates an indomitable spirit of determination and strength in the face of adversity. This month is set to be one of self actualisation where we step fully into an intuitive knowing that the strength and power we have been seeking externally resides within us. Working with the energy of willow will enable us to connect more profoundly with our personal truth and inherent strength. Willow will support us to expand beyond our current personal parameters which in turn will enable us to branch out and experience exciting new opportunities.
In the month of April we are being guided to emulate the energy of willow, to take a moment of pause and reflection to recognise how far we have come, what we have overcome and to align with the warrior spirit within. The beginning of 2026 has not been as easy as we had anticipated, but as we move into and through April we are reminded by willow spirit to be courageous, to vow to keep on growing irregardless of external pressures and demands. It is time to allow your own branches to reach out for support.
Find a willow, sit with her and allow her energy to merge with your own. If you are guided by willow, take a fallen branch home with you and whittle it into a powerful and intuitive wand for your personal use. In moments when you feel overwhelmed, hold your willow wand and connect with her energy and together, you will find the solution, the answers. Good old Ron Weasley in Harry Potter had a willow wand "besides, you're saying it wrong its leviosa not leviosar!" but however you wish to pronounce it, the message remains the same, this April it is time to elevate your energy, your spirit and your mood! Willow is the perfect tree energy to support you through this month of personal growth and transformation.
