You may have heard some of the readers talking about Saturn going retrograde. What this means is that the planet Saturn in the skies looks like it is going backwards through the zodiac. Many of the planets seem to take on a retrograde motion from time to time, and from 7th February to 25th June, it's Saturn's turn.
The effect that this retrograde motion has on us varies from person to person. In general, it tends to slow things down. It gives us a chance to try things on and see how they fit, before we adapt them into our lives on a more permanent basis. Saturn retrograde can create some confusion about when to proceed, and when to say no. This is why important decisions should not be made during this time if they can be postponed at all.
A retrograde Saturn gives us a chance to put a foundation under previous commitments. It gives us time to tidy things up, so we can move forward into newness once it starts its direct motion again. It is important to try only to work on things to which we are already tied, and for us to try to avoid taking on new projects at this time.
The bad news about this retrograde Saturn is that it can leave us feeling very frustrated, but the good news is this is only a fleeting thing. It will sort itself out in a matter of weeks, and if we heed the lesson, we can emerge from this a stronger and more focused person.
