I have always been in love with crystals pretty much all my life and would constantly keep getting more, so much so that my house looks like a crystal shop these days. I realised that while beautiful that there was more to them, and I began to explore them further.
As a psychic I also use crystals daily in my work and recommend them to anyone who wants to know which crystals would be best for them and their particular situation.
Over the years of working with crystals I have been in awe of how powerful they are as healers, and how amazing they are to look at. A perfect combination.
However, I have also found that going to certain shops the energy wasn’t right, the crystals didn’t have that alive feeling, the vibration I would expect from them.
So, I figure it’s important to explain the few things to look out for when buying a crystal.
Firstly, make sure its ethically sourced! Why is it important to only have ethically sourced crystals?
It’s about the combination of the energy, and also the preservation of the planet. When a crystal is mined, it is important that the ground around it is treated with respect. It can be dangerous and also can cause damage if they are mined in a more heavy-handed way. It can ruin the earth around the mine but will also cause the energy of the crystal itself to be affected. Therefore, always make sure that when acquiring a crystal that it is ethically sourced. If buying online check the shop has a clear policy about that, if buying offline ask the shop whether or not they are ethically sourced, chance if is they don’t know, it’s because they are not. Ethically sourced crystals cost more, and many retailers try cutting costs by getting some mind irresponsibly.
Make sure it’s not a fake!
Unfortunately, as crystals have become more popular and more mainstream there are a lot of fakes around. You will find Citrine which is just quartz or amethyst heat treated to change its colour. You have stones reproduced in labs to look like the real thing, but they aren’t. There are crystals sold that are actually just coloured glass. All these of course do not give you any benefit. Sure, they look still great, but they are just decorative. There are some great apps around that you can use and scan a crystal if you are unsure, it should tell you whether or not they are fake or real. But most importantly, trust yourself, when you are picking up a real crystal, there is a vibration it gives out, you can feel it, you can sense something is happening when holding it, with fakes you will not get that same feeling.
Finally, let the crystal speak to you!
Whether you are buying a crystal online or in a brick and mortar shop, let the crystal “talk” to you, if in a shop hold your hand over the crystals and the right one will give out a surge of energy, that’s the one for you, if online, go with which one makes you feel something, which one makes you feel like you are connecting with it. Trust your gut instinct, and you will find it will really help you find your perfect stone, or combination of stones.
So, are crystals a real thing, can they change things. From my experience yes, they can. I have been recommending crystals to my clients for a long time now, and I have had some great successes with them, so I know they can work. As long as you get real stones, and are not tricked into fakes, or unethically sources ones, you should notice a big difference in your energy. Whether that is that you just feel stronger, healthier, more able to better communicate, help seeing your own self-worth, whatever you need it for, as long as you have a real alive stone around you, it sure has real benefits.
So many times, I have people I knew tell that they thought it was “New Age Mumbo Jumbo” and that I was just imagining it, I gave some of those, some of my own crystals, and guess what they now have a whole selection of crystals themselves, because it worked.
