What spiritual skills do you have?
As a tarot reader I use my intuition - which has strengthened with using the tarot and practicing magick - to connect with my clients. I use tarot as a means of divination and reflection in my own spiritual practice alongside kabbalistic angelic magick. As well as my own intuition, I also call on my spirit guardian - we all have one - to help me when needed.
When did you discover your gifts?
I've always been open to the unusual due to spending my early childhood living in a haunted house; being terrified; and recalling my parents discussing their experiences in the house. I came to tarot relatively late in life but I've always had hunches or inspirations, my intuition, to try things. Usually, this has led to delightful discoveries. My intuition told me that tarot might be an important in my life. It has led to me finding a form of spirituality that gives life purpose and helps me understand our purpose in life. I discovered using my intuition with tarot could, most of the time, actually help me connect with the person I was reading for and reveal aspects of their life in the cards. Tarot is the tool that allows me to channel my intuition in a way that can help people.
What tools do you use within your readings?
While I use several divination methods for myself, when I am reading for a client, I only use tarot. The 78 cards of an esoteric tarot deck cover all of human experience. When you lay the cards down in a tarot reading you are accessing a book of infinite wisdom. I have found that there is very little to compare to a tarot deck for reading with a client and discovering their energies and life situations.
What prompted you to start giving readings?
Initially, I started reading for other people for practice and noticed that reading for others actually helped develop my reading skills and intuition. I began reading tarot professionally online during the pandemic because I could help people and remain safe at that same time!
How long have you been giving readings for?
I have been reading tarot for over 20 years and have been giving readings for friends and colleagues for many of those years. During the pandemic I started reading tarot professionally due to the confidence and experience I had acquired up to that point.
What’s your most memorable psychic experience?
Not actually related to the tarot. I gained an intuitive sense that my mum was in danger. I found her standing high up on a step ladder trying to take down some curtains so they could be cleaned. She lost her balance coming down the ladder and I was there to slow her fall. As it was, even slowed down, I was unable to prevent her from hitting her head on a radiator. We spent several hours in Accident and Emergency but apart from a gash in the scalp and a sore neck my mum was O.K. and did not need hospitalisation. If I had not had the intuitive sense of danger I would not have checked on my mum and she could have been seriously injured or killed by hitting that radiator. The consultant at the hospital advised my mum that she had a near escape.
Why should a client choose you for their psychic reading?
Apart from my long experience with reading the tarot I also have a background as an occupational therapist. This has given me a strong grounding in ethics and boundaries as well as experience actively listening and working with people facing many different challenges. I bring this experience to my tarot readings. I create a safe; comfortable; non-judgemental space where we can chat and explore the client's situation and energies in the reading. I am happy to provide both grounded readings in every day matters and spiritually focused readings looking at a client's current energies and the possible paths ahead. My OT; tarot; and life experience means I have heard practically everything you can imagine so I would like to believe a client can come to my reading and I will treat them with respect and sincerity regardless of their query.
What advice would you give to those customers contemplating their first reading?
While general readings can provide some very useful insight, I have found through experience that the most clear and helpful readings occur when the client has a specific query. It's almost as though having a firm question in your mind helps strengthen the connection between you and the tarot reader. If you can, try to focus on something specific you want to know; clear questions lead to clearer answers. Even if you only want a general reading then you should know that these readings can highlight areas of your life that are important. So, if a general reading seems to focus on a specific area of your life, then that area may be more important to you right now then you may believe.
Tarot readings show what is most likely to happen, what is most probable, and even then, some action may be needed to make that outcome happen or to avoid it. So, yes/no questions don't tend to generate clear answers through tarot readings. It is usually helpful to think of a yes/no question more in terms of what might lie ahead or what you need to know about a particular situation.
Are you typical of your star sign? If so, how?
I am both a Leo Sun and a Leo Moon. I find I have to intervene if I see someone outdoors struggling with something or if someone is being bullied. I feel a need to advocate for people who need help but have no one to stand up for them. I also don't mind being the centre of attention - depending on the situation of course. This is all Leo energy. I am also a Libra rising, I can spend too much time thinking things through and weighing up options. So, definitely some Libra influence but perhaps not the best aspects!
What do you do for fun outside of psychic readings?
One of my favourite hobbies is to run a game of Dungeons and Dragons for friends. I get to create a challenging experience for them to enjoy and show off my creative side with some theatrics on top! It's a great social experience and I've made many friends over the years by running D&D. Of course, being a Leo, it also puts me at the centre of attention too. What can I say?
