Information on the tarot.The tarot deck consists of 78 cards, each rich with symbolism, imagary and psychic meaning. The deck is divided into the major arcana - 22 cards with powerful images: and the minor, which is similar to an ordinary pack of cards, with 4 suits, numbered one to 10, plus four court cards.
History of the tarot. The origins of the Tarot are still shrouded in myth and mystery. Many theories place their origin in the ancient religions and mysticism of Egypt, India or the Kabbalah but these cannot be proved. We may never know when the Tarot was first appeared but there is little doubt that Tarot cards were in use in some form for divination and psychic guidance in ancient times. We do know the first known Tarot card deck dates from Italy in 1441 and has developed through the centuries, mainly as a game still played today. Later Tarot decks produced by Jean-Baptiste Aliette, the Golden Dawn and later Rider-Waite fused western magic, neo-paganism, and occult philosophy to create the rich scenes in the decks we know today.
Use of the tarot. Tarot cards are a powerful divination tool, which help the questioner to gain insight into problems or challenging situations by choosing cards, which are then interpreted by an experienced reader, who explains what they mean in relation to the question asked. The powerful symbols on the tarot cards connect to the subconscious mind to of the reader and questioner enabling them to draw on the subconscious to provide psychic guidance and insight into a situation.

What is the tarot? - At it simplest the tarot is a set of 78 cards, each featuring a different symbolic picture. A conventional deck is divided into two sections: 22 cards called the major arcana or trumps, and 56 cards called the minor arcana. The minor arcana is itself divided into four suits, consisting of 10 cards numbered one (Ace) to 10 and four cards called the court cards.
